We Build Walls to Remove Barriers

City Art Walls is a collaborative effort born from a shared passion to celebrate art in public spaces.

At its heart, City Art Walls is about supporting the creative community, engaging diverse audiences, advocating for thoughtful design practices, promoting the economic value of the arts and ensuring the longevity of mural art in cities nationwide. Put simply, we build walls to remove barriers.

The Vision

City Art Walls’ key initiative is designing art parks—intentional spaces for public art that serve as vibrant cultural destinations.

Enhanced by a city’s existing natural environment, each park highlights the beauty of the surrounding greenspace while serving as a gathering place for public art experiences, events and education.

By creating permanent art walls that are free and accessible to the public, City Art Walls paves the way for creative freedom, artistic integrity and opportunities for experimentation.

With scalable plans, St. Petersburg will serve as the pilot city for City Art Walls.

KEY PARTNERSHIPS & PROJECTS

TRAILS CROSSING

“Stretching across four underutilized blocks beneath I-275, this visionary public-private partnership will create a vibrant public space, seamlessly connecting pedestrians and cyclists to the Pinellas Trail through safe crossings and thoughtfully designed amenities.” [trailsx.org]

City Art Walls has been tapped to activate the illuminated art walls feature of the Trails Crossing project. Using our expertise in curation, creative placemaking and public-private partnerships, City Art Walls is uniquely positioned to enhance this aspect of the groundbreaking project.

THE SUNLINE

“The Sunline committee aims to unite and empower our community to foster environmental stewardship and collaborate with stakeholders to activate the Pinellas Trail as a vibrant place for transportation, recreation and green space, public infrastructure and economic growth.” [takemar.org/the-sunline]

City Art Walls seeks to activate the 47-mile walking/biking trail that stretches from St. Petersburg to Tarpon Springs using art on existing walls, built walls, sculptures and interactive art elements—connecting eight unique cities through a treasure trove of art from North to South county.

CITY WALLS PARK

City Art Walls’ primary vision is to create a thriving mural park within the art districts of St. Petersburg. Using thoughtful design and careful curation, this vibrant cultural destination will attract visitors near and far, enriching St. Petersburg’s landscape and showcasing the city as a premier hub for street art, public art and creativity.
